Study Overview

Free diabetic foot ulcer clinical research study now enrolling in Bakersfield, CA. Kern County residents with non-healing DFU receive no-cost wound care, medications, and weekly doctor visits. Participants are randomized to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus advanced placental therapy. Study conducted at our Bakersfield clinic on Truxtun Avenue.

Who Can Participate?

Age Range

18 years and older

You May Qualify If You:

  • Live in Bakersfield or surrounding areas
  • Age 18 years or older
  • Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Diabetic foot ulcer present for at least 4 weeks
  • Ulcer size between 1-25 cm²
  • Adequate circulation to the affected foot (confirmed by vascular assessment)
  • HbA1c ≤ 12%
  • Able and willing to provide informed consent
  • Willing to comply with all study procedures and follow-up visits

You May Not Qualify If You:

  • Active infection requiring systemic antibiotics
  • Exposed bone, tendon, or joint capsule in the ulcer
  • Active Charcot foot
  • Malignancy in the ulcer
  • Currently receiving radiation or chemotherapy
  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Known allergy to placental tissue products
  • Participation in another clinical trial within 30 days
  • Life expectancy less than 1 year
